I appreciate the suggestion. The individual is going to be less likely to post a reply to my question directed specifically at him, if everyone else is quoting me and talking to me instead; this is true. Perhaps the individual is from elsewhere, other than the U.S., and therefore the posts seem “strange”, merely due to a cultural difference. There could be many reasons. If the individual does not reply, my intentions (prior to your post) was to THEN send a private message of inquiry.
