I tried two different scale and got 7.4lbs both times.

EDIT: B3IS beat me to it. My pole weight is without steering system or pad.

Cause Goose promises it all and delivers poop! Takes your money and maybe you will get your stuff!

So that's "why the hate" is going on.

I have the Rick Roy pole which looks identical to the AC RN pole. That thing has taken a lot of abuse so it's super strong. That said, it is 10-12lbs so it's not exactly light.

One thing I'd like to point out...pole weight should only affect the total weight of the ski and not what you feel in your hands. Pole springs FTW!

Even with a spring the weight is still there . It may hold itself up but handling is still being effected by a top heavy ski . Especially if you have one of those 48 lb hulls with a 20lb Rick Roy pole .

That's a good thought. However, I would think a 20 lbs pole is nothing compared to the 100+ lbs that's already there from your upper body which almost has to be above the pole. Just a thought...

The body has to hold up & manipulate the pole, though. It makes a difference now that I think about it. With my old XMetal pole, I would get shoulder & back pain and some fatigue.
Hasn't happened yet with the carbon pole, unless the bolts are really lose.

This is true, I lost 25# from the last time I rode (late July ankle sprain) to this last weekend (5 weeks) and it made a big difference, but taking yet another 10# off of pole weight for riders looking for a greater edge is something, especially when they are already thin and can't just loose a few lbs to get an advantage.

If you add up rider and ski weight and both equal 500, I can tell you that a 225lb guy is going to have more fun on a 275lb ski than a 150lb guy is on a 350lb ski.

And now a RRP Pole weighs 20lbs.......whaaat? Truerider said 14lb's with grips, fatbars, and steering system (do you know how many stainless bolts are in that?)
