There’s a little bit of background to the HP. There are two types of Dynos predominately used by engine builders one is and Eddy Current dyno and the other a water break dyno. Early in our engine development mid 2016 we used an Eddy Current dyno and we were chasing peak power at maximum rpm, at that stage of the development we were making 158hp @ 7100rpm this was exciting for us and that engine configuration was extremely quick. However having the port timing and exhaust configuration to make that power we found the bottom and maid range weren’t lacking but it had more of a tradition 2 stroke flat spot and quite an aggressive powerband. So early 2017 we made some dramatic changes to port timing and exhaust measurements to what we have today, this configuration makes 20% more power from the bottom to the mid range but signs off at about 6500rpm compared to the outright horse power configuration.
So the decision was made to tune the motor more toward bottom end and mid range as that’s where a freestyle rider would be using the power but we quote maximum output like other engine companies ie. Sea-doo, Yamaha, Dasa, X scream ect as a better comparison for users.
Subsequently, we’ve decided to change the communication to the market about which HP is more appropriate for freestyle skiing.
