Yep, at the end of September/August with no rain means relatively stagnant, shallow, salt water in the bay.

Its rough, even the "cooler" layer of water near the bottom is hot.

One of the areas I used to ride before all my skis became projects...

We used to ride that spot a lot! In the middle of summer the water would be so hot you didn't want to fall off, since it was the opposite of refreshing.

Clear Creek is a fun ride october through june/early july depending on rain and tides. Once it heats up, its like riding in a bath.

I moved out to sugarland and have not been out in a couple years now. Any good ride spots out on the southwest / west side?

Clear Creek is a fun ride october through june/early july depending on rain and tides. Once it heats up, its like riding in a bath.

Yeah

Sadly, nothing on the SW or W side that I'm aware of. Everything is North, NE, SE and S. If you wanted to go NW a bit, there's Sommerville Lake and Lake Bryan. Both are solid spots even if a bit of a drive. Half the time it's easier than fighting your way down to Clear Lake.

I have been to Sommerville a few times but never with the skis, I should check it out. Thanks,

Rushing some quick dry 5200 on my ski in my beck yard before going out to the marina, should of planned ahead lol, the part Fell off and I ended up with glue on my gloves. Rode 5 hours with the wife, stopped for lunch, we were the only ones with masks...first time docking my Vision.. only stand up rider out there..
