Alright y'all,
The itch is back. I've got my ski for sale due to a massive lack of use - and now plenty of my friends are trying to talk me into getting back into dirtbikes. Currently, I don't have any reasons not to. Anybody suggest otherwise :ugh2:

Speaking of which - I might be interested in taking a YZ450F as a partial trade toward my ski ....any takers?

Keep the ski and buy a second toy!

Every time I see an MX or GNCC race on TV or a dirt bike in the back of a truck I miss my old YZ250 more and more. Not that I want my old bike back but a newer YZ 250 or even a 450F. My new plan is to pay off my debt, perhaps sell my 4-wheeler, then go buy a WR450F and make it a dual sport :) Good gas milage and easy parking yet the ability to go to the woods. I still love MX but I am a crasher and I need to retire from big jumps.

Ha ha, buy another toy?? Dude, I already have enough toys right now -lets see, I have an 06 Yamaha R1 50th Anniversary, an 04 Yamaha WR450F that has been street legaled and motarded, and my ski. I can't afford to add to the collection right now.

A WR to me really isn't a true dual sport. I would get another MX bike but for me a woods/street aka a dualie would do. A road bike sucks in the woods and a woods bike sucks on the road. But I think a dual sport WR 450 F would be the ticket. I could ride it to work to save gas and then just pop off the turn signals and lisence plate for the trails. But to make a YZF 450 would cost a whole lot more. A WR already has some of the needed parts on it. My MX days are over. All my friends who rode MX have lots of nice scars and metal in their bodies.

So what kind of riding do your friends do? Must be MX since you already have a WR. Gotta ride what your riding buddies are riding! All my MX riding buddies got out of it eventually buying quads. Now I have a quad I never ride... Good to take girls for rides out in the woods... alone and test out the suspension on lol But it hasn't been used for that but a handful of times. Next bike will be a dual sport or an R1 myself.

Can't you just unlower it and put the bigger tires/wheels back on?

I think a few people missed what I meant about my WR450 being motarded - this ain't your typical dual sport. This is a straight up hooligan, go straight to jail do not pass go motorcycle.

Check it out - 17" excel rims, Moto master 320mm front brake setup, full Leo Vince exhaust - this thing is bitchin!

That WR is PIMP! Can you make it street legal?

Yeah I will admit it, I miss MX. You are right, it is part of you. I am still mad at myself for skipping High Point, Steel City and Budds Creek MX of Nations this year. I am only two hours away from the first two and the MX of N was a once and a life time thing... What was I thinking?

And I am still getting a CR 500 conversion one day too Edwin! But that is only because Yamaha never made a good 500...

The WR is already street legal and plated!!!!! That's why I said it is a straight up go to jail bike. I accidentally rode a wheelie past 3 cops a couple months back just cuz I didn't see them. They just looked at me, so I tore ass the opposite way from them. There ain't a damn type of terrain (besides water) that's off limits for that bike!

no way dirt bikes rule- im buying and brand new 06 crf450x (i dont ride mx only trails) tomorrow! nooooiiiiiicccee!! already have it lined out to street it. dealer had a bunch new left in crates and hacked $1700.00 off sticker.:afro:

every thing seems super easy to hit and mostly all table tops and a few small doubles. those kinda tracks are the best to learn how to go big, at least if you short it your not landing into the back of the double or casing it real bad. wish we had something fun like that up in jersey. its next to impossible to ride any where. either its illegal, people complain of noise or its legal and it blows.

id say get the bike. i love my bike. just hardly use it.

but falling on dirt hurts 1000 times more than on water.
