After a little research I see what you are talking about, so what fails on these - gears? I have rebuilt the motor twice in the past is there an easy way to change out or is this a pull the motor event?

When I look at the parts breakdown there is no part labeled Bendix, which part are you referring to: is this part of the starter or is this part of the flywheel assembly?

Starter spins but does not engage, is this typically a starter issue or a solenoid issue? Boat was running good, idled for 10 minutes out of cove then quit. You can hear the starter spinning, but nothing in the way of anything turning over.
