As already suggested, you should definately consider getting a ball valve Scupper. I have one and leave me 50cal tethered to an anchor in 3 foot wave for 30 minutes at a time with no issues. From what I understand, they can't sell you a us coast gaurd approved hull with a Scupper so that's why...

From what I understand.... They need to sell it closed for the hull to be coast gaurd approved. The environment and gas/oil from the engine bay, something something something (ignore the 2 stroke oil firing out the exhaust).
