stand-up ski rentals in Fort Lauderdale area?

I've rented some really nice sit-downs in that area. Since you live near me, you may not have experienced ocean riding down there before. You can have a lot of fun ripping around surf and wave jumping those couches. Try to find smaller/lighter ones if you can. Use craigslist. You can find some...

Really good deal on craftsman tools ((updated for 2024)) other tool brands added

They have this coming too. Seems like a Ford/GM mix. They talk about the CAT engines here, but they're the same engine displacements and configurations as Ford, with the 10 speed transmission. The numbers, including price look good though. Can't say I'm going to be one of the first to try it...

Really good deal on craftsman tools ((updated for 2024)) other tool brands added

My brother in law got that same one a few years ago for around 60% less than they ask now. It's a great box. They don't really advertise the two levels of quality. Chrome handles have thinner metal and the black are more like pro quality. Much beefier. I'm getting that one in blue in a couple...

Really good deal on craftsman tools ((updated for 2024)) other tool brands added

This is the tool box I'm after. $200 off in both Canada and US right now. It's still $500 CAD more than the USD price, but after exchange rate my gas to drive to Buffalo, it's about the same...

    Stand up in truck bed

I don't know about Toyotas, but Fords have the ability to remove the tailgate cable and attach it to the latch bolt. I do this when I need to keep the tailgate from hitting a trailer jack. I can fit two skis in like this. The rocker on the front of the hull clears the tailgate. The second...

    Stand up in truck bed

I've done it. I have a 6.5 F150 and it works fine. I don't think a 750sx would fit, but I haven't tried. The superjet is tight, but does fit.

Where to find a good engine rebuilder

I agree with doing it yourself if you can find a couple hours. These thing are very simple engines. Manuals and specs can be found on this forum. The best way to find info is to google "site:x-h2o.com superjet manual", if you want the manual or replace "superjet manual" with whatever you're...

    Out of surgery

Disc replacement seems to be going well in Germany. I hear that the US is testing it. I hope Canada get into it soon, so that it's free for me. I have five that need to be replaced.

    Out of surgery

I have a colleague that got a new hip a couple years ago. He was back on the firetruck in six weeks. It's incredible how easy that surgery is now. I'm hoping spinal disc replacement gets to that point soon!

    the trivial complaints thread

How would waking up earlier help? My complaint was that it was dark when I got to work and dark when I left, but staying on DST would give most people some light when they leave work. Where I live it's dark at 4:30. 5:30 would make it better for so many. It doesn't matter to me anymore. I'm a...

    the trivial complaints thread

The most depressing times in my life were the years of working in windowless buildings, arriving in the dark, leaving in the dark. Not seeing daylight for 5-6 days a week is really hard on mental health. This guy is talking like nothing has changed in 70 years. Every street near a school has...

    the trivial complaints thread

I had the same thing with my last parts order from JM. It basically circled the lower part of Florida, then eventually went 1100 miles to the border in Detroit, then 1300 miles west to Colorado, then back 1500 miles to Buffalo, where it came into Canada after a few days

    the trivial complaints thread

I've had a lot of driving related arguments online with people, and others will jump in to tell me I'm wrong. It doesn't end until I cite the HTA and prove them all wrong. The one I hate most is people thinking if there are two lanes, the person turning left has right of way into the left lane...

Other What did you fab up today? A thread for the home fabricators!

Miller has a bunch of videos and written pages that are really helpful for TIG. There's one page that has a picture of a good weld then pictures and a brief description of all the problems you could have. It has the picture and says "this is what it looks like if you're not using enough gas"...

Engine teardown - reed screws for lunch

Use red locktite on screws like that. If you tried turning the screws when you checked them, you could have cracked the hardened locktite. In that case, pull and clean all the screws, put a dab of new red locktite on, then reinstall. Red is best for screws on the reeds and carb butterfly, which...

Doesn't look like cold seize. I'm leaning towards heat. It's surprising that nobody has jumped in here. You usually have an answer within a few hours on this forum.
