    The k&n I have is kind of a long oval shape with chrome on the top, its got a metal-ish feel in the mesh/filter material. What is the best kind to get? I took it off and ran it in my garage just to see down the carb and now that you say it, it actually started easier and idled better.

    Ok I found a 600gph bilge pump which is pretty small but I cant get it to fit anywhere in the bottom of the hull is their anyway to run a hose off the bottom of it so the pump itself is actually submerged?     Okay, if I wanted to get a bilge what do you recommend? And I have a west coast exhaust on it along with a west coast ride plate and k&n air filter. I've seen guys that get different carbs but what should I switch to?

    So I just bought my first stand up, it's a pretty clean 78 440. I had the guy run it when I bought it and hooked water up to and it ran perfect. Went to the lake this weekend and dropped it in and it fired right up. It wouldn't consistently fire so I pulled the gas tank and drained the old crap...

    I have a 78 js 440 I paid 375 cash for it and its got a westcoast exhaust, ride plate, and a k&n air filter on it, really clean under the hood and the hull is in great shape just needs some fresh paint, i'll post pics as soon as i get a chance
