    300/440/550 piston questions

The biggest difference is they take a long long time to heat up and expand to the proper clearances. Wisco pistons are forged aluminum not cast aluminum like everything else.

    300/440/550 piston questions

I'm rebuilding a 94 550sx reed motor. The JS550 motors are a single piston ring pistons. The reed 550sx has dual piston reed pistons. I cannot find any dual ring pistons. no one makes them anymore. Wisco does but I don't what to forged pistons that are more hassles. Only the single ring...

    Why don't I ever see dyno's?

Racing is a whole different cup of noodles. Dyno tuning is more about getting the best most USEABLE power curve and then getting the rest of the driveline to work with that. Peak hp doesn't mean anything if its an useable curve. Look a supercross. all of the riders always say that the 450s...

Tuning after choke removal and primer install

I feel like the popoff is correct its just at the very top and very bottom there are problems. The blips I give the throttle when running bouys is a racer thing to help me setup my corner. It's not because the ski runs poorly there. Yes I have the tamper caps removed. I do not have t screws...

Tuning after choke removal and primer install

I think you may be back words with this statement. For example the faster the motor spins the faster the stock bilge gets the water out of the engine compartment. The vacuum on the pump increases. Same principle with a paint gun. The more air pressure you use the more vacuum you have and the...

Tuning after choke removal and primer install

Yah, the season is done so i'm not going to worry about getting it tuned until next spring. Again back to my original question. The are posts some from well know engine builders that say removing the choke actually makes the carbs suck less air. Or it reduces vacuum in the carb as one also put it.

Tuning after choke removal and primer install

The ski is a left over 2014 superjet. It's bone stock other than the primer kit and clamp on grips. Ski ran perfect before I removed the choke and installed the primer. Its just really weird that it made in lean on the bottom and rich on the top.

Tuning after choke removal and primer install

My ski was winterized, but yesterday was a super nice day so I broke out the ski and did some riding with my buddies. Installed my primer kit also. Now the carb tuning is off. Been doing some searching and some say removing the choke make the carb suck less air and the jetting be richer...

    Hour many hours this season?

Alright, I don't feel so bad about how few hours are on my ski. When you have an hour meter on a ski it takes a lot longer than I realized to ride one hour. I would ride a few more weekends but my local lake closes the gate after the long weekend and the temperatures are cool enough that is...

    Turfing rub rails blaster

I went a different route for my rails. I cut four equal length pieces. Two with the turf in one direction and two with it in the other and alternated the pieces. Then it looked good and I didn't have to line up patterns.

    Hour many hours this season?

Today was the day that I winterized my ski for the season. Unless we get a record breaking heat spell like a few years ago. Since my ski was a leftover when I bought it this spring, I put an hour meter on it. Only being able to ride weekends and not living at the lake or coast. I put 16.5...

    Thoughts ?

You know what... Just buy something and deal with it. You keep posting asking about skis but do not pull the trigger on anything. A ski could look mint but, when its 25 years old you take a chance. It could be a year old, look mint but terribly maintained so the chance is just as big. At...

Did sea doo ever release the new stand up?

Yes and no but mostly yes. They are being released in Europe. It's not a sea doo per say, but the sea doo center doing it. Like TRD (Toyota Racing Development) part or Toyota but separate. So Sea doo center is part of sea doo but separate doing their own thing. Google it and theres more info...

    just want to confirm...

I just want to confirm that with everything being set back on the 08+ hull that the ride plate bolt patterns are still the same from pre 08 to 08+?

    Good starter ski

Take a compression tester and make sure it has 150psi per hole. It also might just be the pic, but the exit nozzle should not have that line or thing down the center. Just keep in mind that the that hull (The Kawasaki JS hull) Is by far the most tippy hardest to ride and learn on hull. With...

    Please help me decide!!!

Seeing you are in Michigan I would pass on that and keep saving and buy a nice superjet in the spring. The riding season is almost done for this year. Quality parts are getting harder and harder to find for a kawaski and who knows what shape the motor is in.

    two finger throttles

I'd prefer two use two fingers. I use two on both my mountain bike, race quad and dirt bike (when I owned one) with both hands for the clutch and front brake. I looked into using a mtn bike lever like some do, but they do not pull enough cable and have to have to be bent to get more cable...

    two finger throttles

Looking for a two finger throttle. Have a stock one right now. Its too short to use two fingers. It's also just long enough that it hits my index finger enough to have a nice bruise on it by the end of the day. Looked at the tusk for a single finger throttle. I would prefer something that...

Pole pad and other back savers???

Make a spacer or two and put it under the pole spring to give it more tension to lighten the pole. My buddy did this on his SXR and his pole almost lifts on its own.
