Yes if you want some crazy colors the only way to do that properly is with some sort of automotive two part base/clear shot with a spray gun. A one stage will be much tougher but you won't get those wild color combinations and the prep for those type of two stage paints is more intensive since...

I think that marine paint from Lowes would work just fine, I'm just not as familiar with it. Just know that type of paint does take some time to dry.

Petitt makes a product called easypoxy, you can literally roll it on with a roller then wet sand and buff it out smooth as glass.

What kind of paint are you going to use on it? If you use a marine epoxy type paint, which is what I recommend although pricey, you can be fairly aggressive with the sandpaper grit down to 120...

Yeah that's good to hear, I considered getting the IDP graphics which are cool but I think I am going with more of a full wrap, they will hide the crappy paint job better...haha.
