I haven't tried. I am going through the motor doing crank seals and so on. I was thinking about using the case bolts from the 6m6 so I won't use the rubber bumper.
Thanks for the info.

Putting a 701 61x in a sn sj and noticed that the 6m6 didn't have the center motor rubber like the 701 had.
Is this a blaster/ wr3 thing? The 61x came out of a wr3.
Silly part is the sn is a 95 and should have originally came with the 701 but it got swapped out sometime in the past.
So do I need...
Two skis for 500 doesnt sound too bad! I have never ridden a flat deck. I guess I am used to the sides. I find that they are nice for subs. foot straps on a flat deck would be great tho. also foot holds. Ride em then make up your mind!
Good call! IF you want a cheap fun ski try to find a 550 any year doesnt matter. IF it runs dont pay over 350 for it. especially this time of year. They are worth more but remmember you will most likely have to do repairs. Crank seals, carb kit, battery, common things. So if it simply runs...
Once you get it see what it really is. 550 or 440 then base your minor mods on that. You can get a lot of minor things for cheap. ride plate 30 to 60$. As for the impeller you will need to know if it is a 440 or js550 or550sx pump. Atleast I think there is a diff between 550sx and js550.
How difficult are the jets in a sbn to get to? Are there flow differences between bn 38 and sbn38. I will at some point in the future need to run a pair of carbs on a pjs reed 550. I have nice pair of bn 38s but I also have plenty of time to consider looking for sbn,s. just looking for pros and...
Why? Why does everyone hate this carb? What makes this carb such a poor choice? All i ever hear is people say get a sbn. from what i see the sbn carb is expensive and hard to come by. I have a boat load of the std bn carbs. Just curious:shrug:
looks like a deffinate over heat prob to me. I would never want more than .005 cl to piston clearnace on a fresh engine. last set of weiscos i used spec at .004 altho this was not a jet ski. I would look for a cooling system blockage or restriction.
water that feeds the pisser would be plenty to keep a vaporizer from freezing up. Impco makes small mixers all u need is a throttle plate instead of the carb. Lpg weighs 4.24 lbs per gallon. campcyl are 1 lb ers. check teeco products and Impco.
One other small difference between Js550 and 550sx is spline count on the drive shaft. sx=15, js=6. You would have to remove the drive shaft or the pump to figure it out tho. If you ever want to change to a different impeller You will want to know witch one you have.
Ahh see. Ok I know some one who is into that kinda stough. I will look into it. Thanks again. Oh Ya me and my lack of observation just noticed last night that your thread is three pages long. What engine ya gonna put in there now?
WFO What is a cart tank? I have an extra 440 tank. Will this work. I am also removing the cavity for the stock oil tank. I havent done much fiberglass work but this is the perfect place to practice.
Cool I was wondering about that Exhaust rubber outlet. I figured it had to go. What prop pitch would work best for bottom end performance? I Have a dual carb pjs topend for a 550 that needs a new clyinder sleve. I would like to rebuild it but not too sure that i will put it in this project. I...
Thats sweet WFO! Thanks! A 550 will fit in there. I just bought the 87 300 from a local police impound lot for $50. I dont know much about the sx models but I have been riding 550js for about 5 years. Will you have to modify the pump? Are they different like a 300/440 vs 550?
I have a 87 300sx That needs engine work. I also have a spare running 300 from a 86 300js. I pulled the engine and now i am thinking what else can i put in here. I have a couple of piston port 550s that i could build and put in here but i noticed that the motor mount pads are 300 only! Also the...
