beginner

I've ridden a stock SXR quite a bit and I'm ready to buy my own sky now. I really want to get into freestyle (mostly flat water, boat wakes) would it be better for me to get a stock/ lightly modified SJ and then upgrade myself, or a freestyle built Rickter FR2? Are they difficult to learn on...
