Alright so I decided to finally start a thread on my buildup...even though the ski's almost done LOL
Started off with my bone-stock 05 SXR. Already put a crank in it (then learned to get a bilge), and a top end and that was it.
Then came the little goodies, an R&D ign advancer, Blowsion bilge switch and rail caps with stitched mats, ODI locking grips, R&D exhaust sleeve, grate and plate.
Then Ben (24-7 760 superjet) decided to trade his sled for a 96 superjet that was all done up last summer, and things took off from there.
Heres a before, pretty much stock
this was after the stock rubber rail caps RIPPED off
Some new graphics thanks to Ben
Then we started getting into hull mods. Here we shaved the rear lip off
Then we flipped her and got out the sawzall...
Shazaam...4 inches gone!
The new rear profile...
"D"-cut in the hull...still needs to be finished
The hand-made carbon fiber ride plate (by 24-7 760 superjet), still not finished, awaiting more carbon to finish her off (shown here for test-fit)
Then he suggested we shorten the pole...
Instant 1.5" shortened pole...
And where we left off yesterday...Pole shortened, reinforced up top, and new doule-size breather tube installed
Much more to come, have to finish the pole and the hull, Get my scupper and install that, finish the graphics on the RH side, put the motor back in and RIDE!!!
Upcoming mods will include a wet pipe and prop, flame arrestors and pump cone. I was thinking about getting the TBM adjustable one...anyone have any ideas? Thanks!!
