hey guys,
I am new to SJs, just grabbed an 08. i was reading something about when they shortened the pole for this year it effected the steering? can some one tell me more about this?

one more question will the xmetal turn plate and bars bolt up to the stock pole or do i have to do something else?

Thanks guys

From what I have read the '08 pole is the same as the FX1 pole, it uses a different top aluminum section with a different mounting location for the steering cable. If this is true the steering should actually have less throw than a pre '08 model. I dont know any of this to be true, just what I read on the internet.
Get that thing on the water and make KX454 jealous that you have less weight and better handling.

I'm only there a few times in the summer. I have a all white SN and a stock blaster. 4th of July I'm there for 2 weeks. Theres that one dude who lives on the corner with what 2 750s, an octane and an SXR?

Hmmm...I have heard of a few who are getting of their SXR's and onto '08 superjets for this year's stock class.

i dont know why you are on the handling kick bob, my old 650 handles better then your sxr now, with that loose back end your sporting. I havent done a thing to it yet, and i am already sitting 60 lbs less then you..

so go ahead move your motor, swiss your bed plate, split your deck...

but remember i am pretty good at building things too.

..thanks yamanube

shoot me a PM when you are going to come up. i live right by the boat launch.

haha i am in no way on a handling kick, my motor is actually moved back to stock (cause of the dry pipe), plus its getting shortened this week....i cant wait to tow that yami around, i got a few tricks you dont even know about yet:sneaky:

I saw some of the most amazing riding ever on a 2008 Superjet by Taylor Curtis in Daytona!!

(This ski seems killer, light and good handling, if they would have put a bigger motor in it stock, I would have considered it...but I'm not starting over with a slow ass stock 701.) I'd rather just put a Trinity hood on mine and call it a day.
