Gang,

I gotta tell you how excited I am about this event. Bryan Broeman approached me in February of this year looking for support crew on this event. When he initially told me about the cash payout and all he has proposed for this race...well, to be honest, we've had a few new promoters who had big ideas, but they never came through, so I was understandably curious.

I've not only checked Bryan's background in promotions out (he comes with a lot of experience in other sports) but also spent some time with him, and he's the real deal. I strongly encourage as many of you as possible to head to beautiful Ft. Lauderdale and enjoy a little friendly competition in the offshore surf for some serious cash and prizes.

I know most of you here are on skis, not runabouts, but I also know most of you will have no problem doing a little railing with one another for 20 lousy miles - especially with this much cash and swag on the line. C'mon boys (and girls) step it up and show the world how much fun riding in open water can be.

This could be the start of something exceptionally cool....hope to see you there!

Man I would actually love to ride this 20 mile thing.

I don't think I can make it though.

Anyone else from Cleveland up for it? I would go if it was 2 or 3 of us.

Just got off the phone with the promoter...he's got some excellent support and sponsors signed solid for this event....on board as of today: Geico Racing, Riva Motorsports, L.A. Fitness, Crocs, Ocean Potion and...RED BULL!

More to come, but with just one month to go until this event kicks off, you should get your registration done pronto!

Questions:

Can I beach cart my ski from truck (in hotel parking area on A1A) to the beach, or do I HAVE TO launch at Alssdorf Park (14th st)?
And if so, where are you supposed to refuel after that looooong 2 mile idle to the starting spot?

I had the pleasure of meeting Bryan at an event. He was telling me about his ideas for promoting some events at a level that has not been seen for some time. Awesome person with a serious attitude of putting this sport back on top.

HELLO........... is anyone out there?
I have been trying to get answers to specific questions I have posted over the last few weeks, in order to decide whether to participate or not.
There was an endurance race at that very same spot a few years ago which I participated in and everyone launched off the beach, refueled on the beach and all vehicles parked right across the street from the hotel.

There is no more info on the site. I know this area very well, I have lived here for more than 15 years.
It just irritates me that they are misinforming people to think that the launch ramp is just next to the hotel.....it is not. It is more than a 2 mile idle speed only ride from the ramp on the intracoastal out through the inlet then south to the hotle location on the beach, plus, you cannot refuel on the beach!!!
I WAS going to go but have decided not to.
