1100 blaster?

Has anyone put an 1100 in a blaster?
I picked up a waveventure 1100 out of a house a few doors down that was destroyed during Ike (see pic, the ski is on the right). Needless to say the hull is junk, but I just got the motor started & it is in great condition. I have a complete blaster, minus motor, I was thinking of putting it in. Has anyone made some type of adapter plate or what issues will I run into trying this? (mounts, alignment, mid-shaft, fuel tank, pipe clearance, ????)

Luke , I put a GP800 in mine ,had to put 2 new motor mounts ''glassed '' in the front , move the water box to the rear ,and bump out the sides a lil for exhaust clearance , the 1100 package is much thinner and the ignition box mounts on the eng to save space , I feel it would be much easier than mine was , your motor is free and your blaster hull is wasting away . just do it !!! BTW : fuel tank stays ,alignment is the same , mid shaft stays and you can always sell the 1100 if you decide not to finish the project and you wont lose a dime !

800, could you post a picture of how you glassed in the front mounts?
I was thinking about using 1/4" or 1/2" thick x SS bar bolted to the front mount extending forward & welding the same to the underside of that & extending further forward to keep the motor mount mounting point the same as stock, if the motor aligns correctly at that height. (does this make sense?? :shrug
So the 1100 will align and have the correct spacing (front to back) w/ the blaster mid-shaft?

I didn't do the work, but I had a 1200 in mine. Here are some pics. The entire interior part of the hull was re-glassed to relocate the motor mounts, the waterbox (taken from a Raider) was relocated to the battery compartment, among other things.

Jet, thanks for the pictures. Could you snap a picture of the mounts for me? Do you know if it is the mounting bed out of the donor ski glued in, or a custom mounting bed?

It was all custom. Sorry, I no longer have the ski...TFerguson (on here and PWCToday) has it, as far as I know, and he may be able to hook you up if he still has it.

take any motor mount you have and attach it to a plate , drill holes in it for xtra holding power for the epoxy to grip ,roughen the plate up with a grinder too. then make a ''well'' to put the epoxy in around the spot where the mount will be located ,I used duct tape and cardboard to keep the epoxy from running away from the mount plate,use thickner in the epoxy too to help keep it in place , to place it in the exact plane and spot it hasto be make a bar ''alluminum 1/4 '' , and bolt it to the existing mounts with the new mount attached also , this will hold it exactly where you need it while the epoxy sets , pour in the epoxy and let cure , remove tape and alignment bar ,glass over for xtra strength, leave unused mount in place if you can . PS: get your alignment distance from the 1100 bedplate on the engine . thats how I did mine but im sure there are better methods elsewhere > BTW mine has never given me any problems at all and im sure they will still be good when then hull is trashed .

So is that motor mount non-changeable? I ride saltwater so that would be manditory.
I was thinking about the same thing except cutting the mounting base out of the waveventures hull and then setting up an alignment bar like that with the mount & base bolted together, and bolted at the correct spacing for the 1100 to the bar, then glassing so I can change mounts if needed. (make sense??)

I can clean up around the stainless bolts and change the mount if necessary . it may not be the purdyst but it guarenteed against comming loose
