12.000 RPM, 250HP, SXR hull

Hello.

The winter time is comming so I am starting my large project.
I need some infos if somebody have some experience with similar things.

I am planning to put Kawasaki ZX10R or Honda CBR1000RR fireblade 4stroke engine in SXR hull. The max RPM-s will be around 12.000RPM and power 250HP.
My friend will help me to put on an small turbo on engine, but that is other story
I know that I should put in the shortest impeler that is 9/17?
The pump should be OEM, should I be looking for magnum pump?
I need your opinion about this project, so you are welcome to tell me what should I be worried about.

Thanks and Bye.

I didn't know that you could turn a pump that fast. All of the sitdowns with bike motors has gear reduction so that the pump is more efficient. I think you want to keep the pump RPM about 8K

i know where there is a perfectly good 2006 zx 10 motor that came out of a mangled frame. don't forget the air shifter. oh and the slipper clutch it should reduce rear ride plate chatter:biggthumpup:

12,000rpms on a 9/17??????????????? it would just spin and not even move.. youre going to have a very difficult time finding ANY pump combo that will work at 12,000 rpms. too fast a pump i think.

you cant run a transmision with a prop. think about it, 12k rpm's in 1st or 5th, the prop is spinning the same speed, there fore the ski is going the same speed in 1st or 5th.

???????.
yeah, imagine you could shift gears going up the face of a wave:Eyecrazy:
another stupid thread wasting people's time.

lol.! it all about the speed comin through the cs sprocket..

with that rpm range, just figure out which gear works and leave it there

I am currently running a Allison V12 airplane engine in my super jet. The Allison was the best suited engine because it creates its max power at about 4500 RPM therefore making pump combos a no brainer.:beerchug:

BTW-I like the gul wing door'ed celica. I think my winter project is going to be gull wing footholds.:beerchug:

I'd contact Dave Stewart @ Impros to double check, but I also agree that 12,000 *shaft* rpms is going to be too fast and well beyond the range of operation for the pump.

However, hot 440's used to run really high rpms in the 9-10k range, but not 12k. (they also didn't live that long at those rpms either)

Why the SXR hull? X2 seems to be the proven platform for that kind of application.

He should just ask Momar, he would know how to do it, or, if a manufacturer is about to do it as a production ski !!! I hear Sergio is working on a Super Jet w/a 5.7 V8 Hemi !!! He is using cabon fiber pistons and composite rods to keep the weight down around the 1125 lb mark, should be a awesome freestyle ski.

that is going to be a super heavy powerplant since it has about 50 pound transmission. and trying to cool the exhaoust is going to be a issue also. good luck

I was thinking of doing one using a vw kombie engine

There would be no need for water lines and i could use them as small scupper lines
