It's the only way I would own a js550 at this point. The stock 650 feels like a modded 550.
The main thing is that a stock 650 will last forever. A modded 550 only runs about half the time in my experience.

I hear ya. My pp 550 runs great but after an hour it starts to be stubborn and hard to start. I’ll probably do a 650 swap if I can’t find a reed 550.
