1998 750 sxi pro head

I recently picked up a 1998 750 sxi pro with a few mods and was not running to its full potential by not revving out all the way. In my process of trying to diagnose the problem I took the head off in plans of checking the cylinders and changing out the head gasket. Well when I took the head off it had only 2 large o-rings around the domes on the head with no gasket.. I purchased a top end gasket kit and it came with a metal head gasket and on every site I look on every 750sxi it sxi pro used a head gasket and not the o-ring style. I'm puzzled on the style of head this is.. My engine is teal in color but the head is white which may have been painted but and it still has Kawasaki at stamped on the top. Does anyone know what head this could be and should I use the o-rings or head gasket or both? Any input would help.

They guy I purchased the ski from did say it was milled but didn't realize that entailed changing the domes to accept o-rings instead of a gasket.. Now would you use a 3 bond type silicon on the head along with the o-rings or is that not needed.. Thanks for the good info before as well

I don't know - my impression from what I have read is that if the surfaces are perfectly flat no sealant should be needed, but others still recommend using sealant or silicone. I have done it both ways and it has worked but I haven't made any direct comparison of longevity etc.

Pictures are worth a thousand words.
It may be a stock, recut head, with oring recesses cut to avoid needing the stock gasket.
New Miller Machine, I believe does this to stock heads, and has an excellent following.
