1st Flat Water Flip

Hey Everyone,

My name is Mike. I am looking to get a ski this year to get my first flat water flip down. Had an SXR last year, so looking for some better equipment to pull it off. Anyone have any recommendations as to what they like / what would be minimum requirements on engine size, pump, hull etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What's your budget? Basically any freestyle hull can be flatwater flipped with a 701(not saying easily!)
But anything above 800cc tends to make it a bit easier not to mention a lot more fun...

All depends on budget. Your need atleast 8-10k to buy/build something capable. More CC will help a lot. For flatwater, I like atleast 900cc+, but seen it done with a stock 701.

It's all about how much you want to get out. You can do it with 701 and a 2,000 AM hull or you can go spend 20-30k+ on one. There's lots of companies out there. Let us know what your budget is

Thanks guys for the tips. My budget is $10,000, but is flexible. I'd rather buy a whole ski, but haven't had much luck finding one in the price range yet. How do I know if its a "freestyle" hull?

You missed out on my hurricane. I was trying to sell it ready to ride before I parted it out. It’s all gone now except for the engine.I’m a little east of Atlanta too haha. As far as freestyle skis go, the lighter the better. Do a lot of research on every hull that your considering. There’s guaranteed to be a thread or two on here even for the very rare and unpopular ones. Don’t buy anything until you’re 100% sure about what you’re getting. If you buy a large engine, ask for a serial number and call whoever built it (xscream, Dasa, PHP etc) and verify it’s age and specs. I’m telling you all this because these are all mistakes that i’ve made (along with many others i’m sure) and have really shot myself in the foot over. Take your time before spending your hard earned money and cover all your bases.

@Toyproblem I'm confused. I will be disappointed if I look at Krash Industries? Why do you say that?

Quailty is yet to be seen on the new motor, I hope it's good, but who knows. They had lots of issues with the starter kits falling apart, hopefully they fixed those issues.

I'd rather spend 14k on a well built used ski then a new krash.

This was my first flatwater flip last year, I was on the ski for about 5 min before I tired to flip it, but it had all the best parts and 1200cc 16mil, ski did all the work.

Someone else replied to what I wrote and said that... I spent a lot of time with the Krash guys at Daytona and I have a RTP on order. My situation is similar to yours and obviously I believe that a Krash RTP is the way to go. There are a bunch of people that feel the same way I do and there are a bunch of people that don’t. (Some people for reasons other than the product itself - agendas, etc). I would definitely call Nick or Chris and talk to them, they are super helpful. If you can ride one at a free ride, that will help make your decision as well. Good luck!
