2001 GP800R PV MOTOR. HAVING ISSUES TRACKING DOWN A COMPRESSION GREMLIN. HERES WHAT I HAVE SO FAR. COMPRESSION HAS BEEN TESTED WITH 3 DIFFERENT GAUGES AND THE RESULTS ARE THE SAME WITHIN A FEW PSI DIFFERENCES.
FRONT CYLINDER 125PSI
REAR CYLINDER 155PSI
FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE 120-125PSI IS NORMAL COMPRESSION ON THE PV MOTORS. POWER VALVES DO NOT APPEAR TO BE STUCK OPER/CLOSED. SKI DID HAVE A CYLINDER REPLACED LAST SUMMER PRIOR TO ME BUYING IT.
POSSIBLE ISSUES THAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD...
1) POWERVALVES STUCK AND NOT ACTUATING
2) INCORRECT CYLINDER ON THE ONE THAT HAS HIGH COMPRESSION... BOTH CYLINDERS ARE NIKASIL CYLINDERS AND ARE BOTH 66E I BELIEVE... PORT TIMING ON REAR CYLINDER MAYBE?????
SKI RUNS FINE BUT I KNOW THE CRANK WILL NOT LAST LONG WITH THAT MUCH OF A COMPRESSION DIFFERENCE...
ALSO THE SKI HAS 76 HOURS ON IT...
