2012 Wamiltons SJ build up

Figured i would start a thread for some enjoyment and document the build up. pretty simple build and swap over from another ski. I built the xs1000 BOB last year and realized the ski was not for me. So i took a step back, pulled money out of the sport and am building this Wammer hull to be a fun, reliable, river boat that i can get comfortable on and actually learn some good tricks on and just enjoy.

It will be built with the following....

2012 Brand new Wamiltons SJ hull. stock length
Fresh rebuilt 828 5mm Riva Stroker w/ RAD crank
Right around 200 psi, 50-50 race/pump mix rips!
Dual 46mm Riva modded carbs
Ported B pipe
MSD enhancer
TBM flywheel
X Metal Waterbox
Solas mag w/ 10/16 Hooker
XR Tech intake grate
X metal pole with X metal controls
and all the other odds and ends that make the ski complete

A pretty simple ski that should get the job done without breaking the bank.

First thing to do was teardown the donor ski and sell that hull....

Hull got here safe and sound just in time to help me study for finals



Wammer met up and had a chat about the type of life to expect when replacing old blue.

This is form this past weekend. no one shoveled the drive.....this is supposed to be a driveway. Good thing we brought the Durango and not my sebring. had to slowly back it in haha. the ground clearance up front wasn't enough.



High of 15 degrees...gotta warm the place up




I think there's more extracurricular activities going on than building

Pump shimmed beautifully and installed. Still need to get hardware for the scupper. i'm going to run dual bilges anyway for the deep subs. and the second the scupper leaks it'll get capped off.




Midshaft cleaned, regreased, and installed. Couch mounts and kenny keeper in. E-box mounts installed, bracket and hood hooks installed. Gas cap all set. and front bumper on. Going to do Black and white diamond turf on the rails and sides, black diamond for the bottom mad. 25mm underpad. comfy and cool.

One hobby I haven't gotten into. a lot of my friends have sleds and this would have been a nice winter for one. Just dont have the room right now.

supposedly they weigh around 90lbs. It's not an entire carbon ski. It's sooo much stronger than stock it's crazy though just feeling different areas of the ski compared to stock. I'll weigh it ready to ride, I'll be curious.

Finished installing the pole setup this weekend. Didn't spend too much time on it, as other activities were taking place. the weather is warming up so that is motivating. And although near freezing, the water looked beautiful!
