Custom/Hybrid 2013 gen 3 build!

Whats up guys! First A/M hull build and Im pretty stoked to say the least! I rode my first BOB hull at WF this last year. It was a carbon Gen 3 and I was incredibly impressed with the way the hull rode and even more impressed with the outstanding service that the whole BOB/Ski Clinic crew put out. From that day i knew i was going to send in my order for a hull, and from the start Derrick JR. has been answering my every question and helping me make sure I make the right choice on the hull and what goes in it. After talking to other hull companies it became pretty obvious that outstanding customer service is not easy to come by, but the ski clinic guys are truly second to none, and truly a pleasure to do business with!

Anyways, on to the ski! It is the first A/M hull rwilliamtaylor and I are building so we are starting with a "tamed" power plant, and working up.

What color combo are you going with ?
If its a Canadian ski, It will be Red, White and Red

I'm stoked to see you're ski, I ordered mine at the worst possible time! Didnt get to ride till Nov, Water was so cold I didnt get to experience the power, Your set-up looks pretty killer Some advice from my experience would be when you get a BB motor bore out your B-pipe as well, and its pricey but the second you can get a 148 setback pump do it, You massively increase your stability on a ski with a bigger set-back pump, Pricey but totally worth it, Save your money and dont get the non-setback mag pump. IMO

the ski is actually going to be black top/bottom deck, with red and white graphics.... with a huge maple leaf on the bottom. it will look good! haha i hope!

thank you for the input! i think we will bore/port our b-pipe when we get the 781. and i think we were going to get the 148 setback after the motor, ive heard great things about the performance gains you get from the set back over the non-sb so we will almost certainly do that.

I couldn't give you an honest answer, and I would be willing to bet nobody here could, But I would say you need the bigger motor first, if nothing else because you will need a new impeller with the BB anyways and impellers arnt cheap, so you would save yourself a little bit of money going that rout, Also give Art a call at jetworks, Ive never personally run his stuff but a buddy of mine has and its incredible and he is much cheaper then most, he is definitely worth a phone call

And this is why I'm going with the ski clinic. I don't see any other builder with customer service like this.

Thats because there isnt! the Ski Clinic is the best in the game with price, quality, and customer service! the Xmetal guys are pretty great to deal with as well, but the KDX is a bit out of my price range! haha
