2013 Superjet Build - Newbie

Warning: I am a newbie and this is my first post (so go easy on me)

Got a 2013 SuperJet and I am wanting to do some Mods (on the cheap). I have already done turf and footholds. I was planning to cut my stock pole 3 inches and do the D Mod on the trim plate. Would like to do something with my steering and add a CATS trim system. Would it be better to go with a legacy SJ steering cable Mod with my stock turn plate or to upgrade my turn plate with an aftermarket one? I was looking at a XScream turn plate (http://www.teamxscream.com/products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_29&products_id=6567). If I update my turn plate do I still need to upgrade to a different cable given the adjustablity in the XScream? I am looking for more throw. Also does it matter what type of Trim System I use? I was looking at the XMetal Trim setup, but there is probably a cheaper way to go (http://www.teamxscream.com/products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_29&products_id=6537), so please throw out some better ideas and options. I would really like a step by step guide if possible.

Thanks in advance to the input and advice!

I didn't like my xscream steering setup (it had needle bearings which prone to rusting and the steering cable connector orientation is prone to self loosening). There are a lot of threads about updating 2008/newer hulls steering. Search this in Google and read up:

You definately should upgrade to the 96-07 steering cable and mod the pole cable mount to work. Low dough mod is swap cable and mod the stock turnplate and nozzle mounts for quickthrow.

Make sure that 100 shot don't blow the welds on the intake..
It was Racers Edge 785 with freestyle porting. Made @125hp before nitrous. Cracked previos ungirdled cylinder into 4 pieces before I went to the billet RE cylinder, needed threaded inserts into both cylinder for head, & cases for cylinder, as they got yanked out. After that was done, I went @ 3 years on same top end. Then it was hull repair: crushed in sidewalls, handle pole hull "nose bucket" cracked off...& endless Yamaha electrical issues.

Tho if built another ski, NO2, after bindings would be 2nd mod. Pipe, porting.. Etc make the nitrous work better, but nitrous ALWAYS worked. At high elevation events, whilst all others tried tuning for lost power in thinner air, I just changed nitrous jets, 15 minute, certain to work, tuning

Might get 110-125 HP outta a stock 701... Pipes, porting allow better breathing, NO2 wants to breath. @ $400-600,... cheaper than a pipe, etc....

If you already shelled out the dough for a 2013, I would not combine that with mods on the cheap, or anything on the cheap for that matter.

Just go out there and practice riding it and have fun!
