2017 Kommander S1 (2008 SuperJet based hull)

I had a very clean/low hour/100% stock 2004 SuperJet I bought in 2013. In 2016 I was going to put a carbon hood, shortened pole and footholds on the ski but decided to get a Rickter instead. I rode the Rickter about 4 times but I didn't like it for the type of riding I do. When I built the Rickter I bought a new Factory Pipe but left the rest of the engine/pump stock. In 2017 I was going to go back to a Super Jet because I missed the handling but I wanted a stand up that was lighter yet handled better than a Super Jet. I sold the Rickter hull and had Kommander build me a S1. The 2004 drive line doesn't work in the S1 (needs 08 or newer SuperJet parts) so pretty much everything but the engine itself is new on the S1. Right about the time the ski was done I started having back issues. I put 2-3 tanks of fuel through it that summer (2017) and about 5-6 tanks through it last year. Because of back issues I'm selling several of my ski's. I love this thing and hate to sell the stand up I always wanted but I don't need the temptation sitting in my garage. I was going to get my own graphics made to break up some of the Blue but I never got around to it which is why it looks a bit plain.

This SKI HAS BEEN REGISTERED IN AZ already. I don't have the stickers on it but I have the stickers in my build folder.

UPDATE - I should have mentioned this hull is based on a 2008 Superjet but it's also 20lbs lighter. Since the hull and hood are all lighter the ski feels very balanced and it handles like it's on rails. I didn't realize there is little to no information about this hull on Kommander's site. Kommander Industries is about 20 miles from my office so I would drive up there weekly during the build. Dustin told me the top deck is wider and shaped different which improves buoyancy and handling. You won't be able to make a SuperJet handle as well as this ski yet it's very easy to launch off boat waves.

S1 - Built by Kommander and tuned by Dustin.
Special Color - The interior of the hull has blue flake throughout.
Stock engine other than head
RRP Billet Handle Pole
RRP Handlebars
Solas Mag Pump
2008 Prop
RRP Trim System
Kommander High Compression Pump Gas Head
Worx Intake Grate

$11,000

1996 HX - Stock with CARBON FIBER HOOD - These hoods are very hard to come by. My brother and I had them made by Water Craft Magic in 2013. They are in perfect shape and really change the dynamics of the ski. The hood made a huge difference.

Thanks for the compliment.

Superstock1986 - I really don't want to part it out. I'm going to be taking my brothers GP1800 to Kommander this week for a service, I'll ask Dustin while I'm there if he has anybody interested in the other parts, if so I'll consider it.

Thanks for the interest

Sorry for not getting back to you the other day. I talked with Dustin @ Kommander and I have decided not to part it out. I'm going to leave it in his showroom later this week. His shop is only 20 minutes from my work in case someone wants more pictures or info. It's a Kommander hull put together by Kommander, just doesn't seem right to tear apart and sell. I appreciate you reaching out.

curios how do you like the ski? with the wider tray does it feel a lot more stable? perhaps we can talk about it complete at the end of the summer as I will have more money. Just looking for feedback on this thing since like you said not much info at all on it.

You can send me pictures of that x4 if you would like. I'm not really interested but I have a soft spot for the X4 hull.

To be honest, I'm very limited on my ski experience. I have mostly ridden HX's and SPX's my whole life (I haven't ridden built stand ups except this ski). I got my SuperJet and rode it 100% stock for several years before the Kommander S1. So I went from a stock ski to the extreme end of a Superjet. I have the foot holds built in so you loose some tray space, probably a little smaller than a SuperJet without the foot holds. To go from a stock length pole and handle bars on an 04 SuperJet to a shortened pole on the Kommander was a drastic change. Last year I actually rode it a couple of times back to back and started to get really comfortable with the ski. The S1 has tubbies built in as far as I remember, I could confirm though. If you spent a couple of days on this ski you wouldn't want to go back to a SuperJet, the weight and handling would be hard to give up. Yes you could probably make a SuperJet handle as good but putting a carbon hood on a SuperJet changes the balance (that's what I'm told). The Rickter would launch off anything but it was really twitchy and didn't handle well. Ultimately I just wanted a lighter Superjet without giving anything up, that's what an S1 is. I would launch off boat waves then go cut turns as hard as I could. I didn't want a 1 trick pony. I never rode a race prepped SuperJet to compare to, but this things feels like it would be right at home at the closed course or do well in the ocean.

I must say the quality of the hull is excellent.

When you say hull only, are you talking about a stripped down hull nothing else included (pump, intake grate, ride plate, pole bracket, etc)? I'm leaving town in a couple of hours and I will be back late tomorrow night. Please private message me for my email information. Thanks
