2021 SuperJet - Freestyle disappointments

Location

Hey guys,
I just got a 2021 SJ and not very impressed so far. I was hoping to have the handling like my old 650sx and found it was riding on rails, like a race machine than anything close to a freestyle machine. No matter how hard I tried, I wasn't able to release the back and drift across flat water or even come close to turning it in on itself. 1 day in and I am ready to sell it. Anyone have any suggestions or did I just buy a race machine? Riding on rails in a course is ideal, but for freestyle it lacks agility. Thoughts?

Yeah it sucks for freestyle. Every time you think it'll slide it will catch and throw you off. Pickup an earlier model Superjet and you'll have more fun if you're trying to do tricks or play around. Better steering and cable really helps the 21, but it's still a huge bitch for freestyle. Cruising big lakes, going fast, it's pretty good for that.

It's already up for sale. If anyone is looking for a stupid fast machine with more power than I can handle this is it. It is crazy how much torque this machine has over the 650sx. I used to hammer the throttle on the 650sx coming out of the turns. On this machine, there is not a chance I would do that. I had this thing tipped what felt like 70 degrees over and it just held the water like it was following a track. Unreal the grip it has.

Did you try riding on the hood or a bulldog? Here is Gomez showing what can be done on one. That Japanese guy can probably barrel roll and flip one too. :)

It's for sale now... for ~11.5K USD if anyone is near Northern Ontario. Like I said, if I was into racing or just wanted something fast that I could carve, this would be it.
In fact, I hammered the throttle and couldn't figure out why I couldn't release it. Thinking about it the next morning, its because I was hanging on for dear life and the finger throttle was fully depressed. lol

My thought is you took one of the worst handling, wishy washy stand ups out there, and went to the newest, excellent handling and like double the weight ski's and are somehow amazed by the outcome.

Baby steps man.
650sx->square nose superjet-> round nose superjet-> stop there don't buy anything newer lol .

Eh? @canuck

Man don't leave the sport! Your ski will sell, especially if the warranty is transferable and you soften the price just a little bit.

You went from a dirt bike to a Harley, which are both great in their own ways.
Now you know your preference.

Don't wait for it to sell to buy a 2-cycle Super Jet.
Buy your Super Jet now.

Life is too short not to ride.

yeah, who wants fuel injection and ultimate reliability anyways, you want to do freestyle? Take it to the ocean and turn the bars off a 6 foot wave.
