2stroke sparkplug "reading" after plug chops?

Anyone have any links to images of what plugs SHOULD look like after some WOT plug chops on well tuned motors? I am learning what I think a good plug looks like.... is not what it really should look like (fat), and I want to do some homework. But after some googling all I have found are automotive spark plug images. I have a good PET tach to help tune, but there isnt any water around here thats not choppy as hell, so the top end rpm's are all over the place and I havent found it to be very helpful.

Thanks for any input/links!

so you want a clean piston? slighly darkened? dark? black?
it easy for me to see a tan insulator, but how should the piston look?

fingernail sized (or a little bigger) clean marks on the piston crown at the transfers.

if it's to clean it's to rich

there is a thread here or the other site that has the word piston wash in the title about it.

Awesome link Demon! Thanks! I am ordering a scope tonight. I must have been RETARDED FAT, because my pistons are totally shiny on the tops from what I can see looking throught the holes.

here is a pic I got somewhere from an article on piston wash.
I run my front cylinder rich so that the pto is just right (single carb)
works for me!
plug readings seem to vary more by oil type than by the actual mix

here is how I run mine. little rich in front, fine on pto
I think 90% of the time the rear cylinder fails lean is because people tune to the front cylinder and the rear goes lean on a single carb ski

Stupid noob question. But how the hell do you fatten just the front with a single carb? Just fatten overall?

right, that is why front piston reads rich and rear reads perfect.
rather run a little rich
NGKs cheaper than cranks!:bananalama:

Dang! Get them extra screens out of that air cleaner (F/A)! You need to just run one screen, give that engine some air (more horsepower) and watch your jetting...

you should try to run your rear cylinder richer because there is more load on the rear cylinder because it drives the coupler.

torpedo, you can't tune one cylinder richer or leaner than the other on a single carb, your rear is running leaner hence the more carbon on the top of the piston. like i said above there is more load on the rear cylinder so it will run a little hotter and leaner than the front. thats why most of the time a rear cylinder will blow on a ski unless something else is wrong with it. torpedo i would run your ski a little bit richer that rear cylinder is a little lean. who cares if the front is a little richer if it makes your motor last longer.

I know you cant tune one cylinder versus the other: the PTO will alway be leaner
So you tune to a rich mag cylinder/ideal PTO cylinder
This was my season end piston wash when I was running with COLD water
so it looks leaner than in mid summer
