Other 3 Primer plungers brought to life

Brake cleaner sprayed/ drawn into them by using a short piece of primer line to fill, fixed three non working primers today...I will always buy primer bulbs from now on because plungers style are unreliable imo. My Freak has a bulb style and they are so much better I believe.

Thought I share a fix that worked. Opinions ?

Know any bulb style that will fit into the OEM choke hole like the plunger style?

I want to switch away from a bar mounted bilge switch, but I have it because I didn't want to drill a hole in my boat.

I'm open to ideas to have the fuel selector, primer and bilge switch w/o drilling any holes, or making any of the existing holes bigger.

How long do you think they will last?

Seems inactivity is what makes them quit.

I went from bar mounted switch to removing it from the mount and moved it under the pole below chin pad with superglue. I kept hitting it on the bars so it had to go. Don't know about a smaller diameter bulb primer.

Interesting, I would think the brake cleaner would eat whatever is inside and make it worse. Glad you got them working, I prefer bulbs simply because they're knee friendly.

Install the primer bulb in the engine compartment. Works for me but my ski starts easy anyway.

Might do that when this one :):):):)s out. The new one I just put on my ski is leaking. I stole the one off my X2 for now. Putting inside would free up the mount location for a bilge. It just concerns me to not have primer avail in the surf.

My bar mounted switch is on it's way out too. Not looking to spend another $70, or $35/yr at the rate these last.

I only dislike the plunger style because I took one in the knee, after that I only mount them inside the hood. Then a bulb cracked sitting in storage in my shop and leaked about 2 gallons into the tray, it's common, should probably be changing my mat every two years anyway.
