4 Ski Trailer Buildup!

SkiNaked

Stand up or Shut up!
I purchased a two ski sit down trailer a few weeks ago and am in the processes of turning it into a 4 ski stand up trailer.

Here is what I started with. The trailer was in pretty decent shape. Needed new paint and some TLC. Here is the before picture.

We stripped town the entire trailer. Sanded it and repainted. Pinstripped it and made bunks for three skis across the back. Then made a mount to hold the 4th ski across the front. Here are some of the pictures of it going back together. Using a stripped SN hull to mock up where the bunks need to go and to design the mount for the front ski.

All that is left is painting the axle and installing it back on the trailer. Installing bearing buddies and putting the wheels back on it.

So I will have this trailer complete for under 1100 bucks.

I paid 800 for the trailer and have about 300 in materials which include all new bunks, carpet, metal to make all the bunk mounts, up bars and nose holders.

A guy from Boise built a Square patterned after Stoyer's boat.
Stoyer's was a Roundnose.

Yes. Came from Boise. It is in pretty bad shape so I am passing it off to a friend of mine that wants to tear it down and build it back up from scratch. Seam between bottom and top deck has been split and not put back together properly. I stripped a bunch of stuff off the ski since I bought it. Reinforcement was not the best quality and the hood liner was junk. Now it is being used for measurements so I can get the trailer together. Then off for a complete rebuild.

Question: What is the correct way to figure proper weight distribution on a trailor? l have an older trailor that is made for two stand ups and want to convert it to carry 1 standup and 1 hx.

The three Blowsion Superjets get the rear three slots and the "lone" SXR gets the front bunks to shield the SJ's from road debris. :burnout:

lol. Something like that. Actually the SXR I gave to the wife. She likes it. So her SN superjet will be the shield. All will have covers.

Trailer loaded up ready to go. Rode today. Trailer is awesome. Just needs a fuel rack. We are working on building a 6 can rack to go across the front. I pull the trailer with our 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Plenty of rooms for the suits and such but do not like putting gas cans in it. So that is next.
