I just ran across this on fb. Four skis were stolen from a campground in Montalivet, including Federico Bufachi's just about brand-new Lightweight.de Revolution ski. Also his Superjet and a couple other Roundnoses.
That really sucks, especially for such a nice setup.

Yes, I just heard about this too, I feel really sorry for the owners. Hope they catch the thieving scumbags.

GRRR, i hate thieves, i'm always worried when i have my jetski sitting on my trailer. Only way to keep them safe is having them in an alarmed garage. Standups don't weight anything and can easily be pulled off a trailer and thrown in a pickup :(

that's y i lock mine to the trailer with steel cable i know it can be cut but it would slow them down. will keep an eye out on craigslist and all that jazz for them. really sucks :/

For what it's worth, Montalivet is in France. I doubt they'll show up on US Craigslist.

Does anyone know if there's someone out there that makes a small waterproof GPS based recovery system for watercraft like the Lojack systems that are available for automotive and motorcycles?

If there were a portable self contained unit that could be easily removed from a mount inside the ski with a high security lock that would be awesome, then when you go out to ride/race/compete you could easily take the unit off if so desired (less weight) and lock it back in when finished riding. It would even be easy enough to disguise it to look like something that's supposed to be in the engine bay anyways or even transfer it to a different vehicle if needed.

I highly doubt who ever stole these skis will ride them the way they are "the two that i see in this thread are very flashy", they'll most likely be painted and parted out.

My home away from home.
I think the thieves screwed themselves, by stealing those rare skis. Not a huge country and someone (in the know) will eventually spot them. Thieves are stupid in general and I really hope these idiots get caught real soon.

Hang tough fellas and I hope the skis get returned in decent shape...
