Octane 42mm Keihin Race Carbs on Octane 777

I have read so much about the weaknesses of the stock Octane carbs so I decided to try another setup. I had a couple Keihin 42mm Race carbs from a Kawi 750 I had. I took the throttle shaft out of the stock octane carbs and installed it into these to get the right spacing. I then port matched the intake mani to the large carb bore. Has anyone tried this setup? How do these perform compared to the stock carbs? I am also running dual pulsers and V-force reeds. Any jetting suggestions?

Just a guess, but they are probably going to kick ass.

Are those the stock air filter cups? Its almost like they were designed for those carbs since there is a smooth transition / no ledge.

prem1x is running those same carbs on his octane (i think). you might want to send him a pm.

im running a set of novi 46's and they rock!

I don't think adjusting the flywheel is common practice. rather you get your cdi reprogrammed with an entirely different curve. watcon can do it.

Thanks for the input, Randy has been helpful but he said he has very little experience with these Keihin 42's. I just picked up a FPP Dry pipe for it, so that will make setting up these carbs a little more difficult. I am sending out my CDI for Watcon tomorrow.
