If you are not stuck on spending an arm and a leg on Pelican you should check out the Plano all weather cases. I have one for my 1000 yard rifle and it is built like a tank.

Neither company seems to offer what I'm looking for and both are priced pretty equally high.

I like the Pelican 1170 but need one case just slightly larger. Unfortunately, the next sized case is always too big or in the wrong dimension.

The Plano All Weather series seems to be of decent quality but the smallest handgun case in that series is a 4 gun; equivalent to the Pelican 1450 except maybe a few dollars cheaper. Their smaller cases are not much better than what the gun comes with and not really what I'm looking for. I want all my stuff hurricane proof.

Their prices on Hornady Critical defense ammo is almost $10/25 cheaper than I just paid locally so I'm gonna hold out till it's back in stock and probably pick up a couple boxes of that. Hopefully they have the Ruger SR22 mags back in stock by then too.

I ordered a couple Pelican cases today from Office Depot so I got that covered. $36.99 for an 1170 and then free shipping for the pair. $79.95 shipped is not an arm and a leg in my mind.

When I looked up those Plano cases online last week, I found the prices to be $82 to $112 for the 4 gun case and therefore only a bit cheaper than Pelican. I was walking thru Walmart this morning and they have the Large All weather pistol case on the shelf for $44.95. Now that's a totally different scenario. For $45 that's one helluva rugged case. Still much bigger than what I was looking for but they are definitely on my radar now.

Has anyone actually redeemed their coupon yet? I went to cash mine in this morning and found that I have zero record of the actual coupon. I searched all my emails and found nothing. I searched my computer bag for a printed coupon and my phone to see if I noted it somewhere and nothing. I even tried to log in to their site but they don't even recognize my email addy.

I saved it but then deleted off my desktop. Even though the coupon is for Brownells, it was purchased thru Gearhog so you can log into Gearhog to retrieve it, (unless you wrote it down).

Just ordered 2 boxes of 115g Hornady Critical defense ammo in 9mm. Thanks to the coupon it was $33 shipped. Not a bad deal considering it's $27 per box at the local gun shop.

If you are looking for a bi-pod for fclass or long range shooting this is a great deal. Cheapest I have seen a used one go for is 215$.
