300/440/550 550 Starting Problems

I was on my 1990 550 today and took a hard landing on its side. When I swam back to the ski to start it up, all it did was make a click. I thought it was a loose connection so I tapped the right side where the battery is and it fired up. Drove back to shore to see what it was. All wires are connected and not loose and I have a new battery as well. I tried to start it to head back the the boat launch and it would just click. The click comes from the E box. I was wondering if anyone else Had this problem. My next step is too take apart the e box but im not really good with electrical so If i don't have to would like not too.

The clicking is the starter relay engaging. Check your ground wire and connections. Also, try jumping the relay terminals with a screwdriver and see if it turns over.

I checked all connections and they are all tight. I tried to jump the relay terminal with a screw drive and nothing happened, which leaves me to believe that its the brushes in my started. I notice a screw on the starter, is this where the brushes are or do i have to pull the starter. I really don't want to pull the motor for something soo minor.

you dont have to pull the motor to pull the starter but if you bridge the relay with the screw driver and your starter does not go then it is boned and you need a new starter some times you just need to pull off the exhaust manifold to get to the starter and get it out. and on some skis depending on your exhaust pipes you dont have to remove anything to pull the starter.
