Super Jet 61x/62t ignition questions....I don't know just click here

So I have a 809 stroker from XS that had a lightened stock flywheel and MSD ignition. I was told by the person I originally bought the motor from that it was a 62T flywheel/stater (I assume this to be true since it is a 62T/61x motor). At the end of the season last year I bought a jetinetics charging flywheel.. I went out and as soon as I started riding it ran like :):):):). I really can't describe it but it had no power and the firing seemed...off. I didn't spin the flywheel or sheer the key.

So my question is.. if you put a 62T flywheel with a 61x stator...what would be the result? I just have no idea what would have caused my motor to instantly run terribly if nothing else changed?

Did the old flywheel have one magnet ring around the inside (62T) or four separate magnet sections (61X)?

There's your problem.

If you try and run a 62T flywheel on a 61X stator it will run like crap!
You have to match 62T flywheels with 62T stators.
Once you get the right parts and change them out, it will be mandatory to re-time the engine with a timing light. Jetinetics flywheel work good, but most are NOT 100% correct with timing. (I use a TBM flywheels)

Send an email to the shop (Rick) and request a 5mm stroker timing chart, take off rear coupler cover, make up a pointer and mark on coupler matching 24* using a sparkplug dial indicator.
Fire up ski, check with timing light.
Whatever the distance the mark is off, move the stator the same amount.
If the mark was off by 2mm, move the stator 2mm.
Using the rear coupler diameter to check timing will give you the same distance to move the stator.
I have seen them off by as much as 8-9* degrees. (Retarded if I remember right)
Turn stator counterclockwise to advance the timing and clockwise to retard timing.

Thanks you sir! As soon as I get some money I'll be buying a new stator and dial indicator.
