61x Motor Build Knowledge

Alright I need some professional knowledge to be brought to the table. I can take a motor apart and put it back together but I need confirmation on a few things that I know many of you know off the top of your head. Just got done putting my 61x back together with brand new stock cylinders and pistons. My question is: was it a bad idea to run the ada non girdled oring head with 34cc domes on this stock motor. And do I have to run 98 octane? And what kind of compression should I expect? Guy I bought it off of had no idea what he was talking about and it never ran right up until compression dropped and I pulled apart. Also has a b pipe. Just need this confirmed so I don't go messing anything up. Thanks alot in advance

ADA Website 34cc 95 Octane 192LBS

I have been running non girdled for years now but 35cc 185LBS 91 Octane , I doubt that little raised compression will require girdle kit as long as everything else is tight.

Make sure to get your jetting right the B- Pipe will come to life with the raised compression.

I’ve run 33cc domes on 93 octane @ 40:1 for years now. Just make sure you get your midrange jetting right.

My wifes 760 runs ada head at 190psi with 91 octane for years now as well. Its all about not giving it full throttle for very long at all.
Not running a girdle on a 61x cylinder is asking for trouble IMO, I won't do it,

I missed that. Definitely need a girdle kit. Ask all the guys with cracked cylinders why.

Milled stock heads to 175-180 crack cylinders.

Maybe you’ll get lucky and it won’t happen. 61x cylinders are cheap now anyway so try it out.
