Super Jet 62t/61x Electrical/Electronics Question

I just bought a nice 62t CDI. Just before buying it I had only assumed that my ski uses 62t electronics. Of course I checked to be certain, but that brought an interesting question to mind. When it comes to all things electrical , which takes precedence? It would make sense that the CDI should be based off of the cylinder porting and stroke, but yet with the round nose 701, you get electronics corresponding to the cases. Are the 62t electronics actually 61x but just labeled as 62t, or is the precedent in favor of the stator and flywheel? In any other area I have worked such as ATV's, or chainsaws, there were no mixmatching of parts like what Yamaha does with the SuperJets...at least not that I have ever seen...so the answer there was obvious. But a little more elusive here. If the 61x CDI is the same as the 62t, then is it safe to say that the only real differences would be rev limits?

I run a 62t cdi in my 718 61x motor, and it absolutely does give a much quicker start than when I used my old 650 cdi. Rev limiter is slightly higher than 61x, and yes it works with 61x stator with no issues.

The advance curves of the 61X CDI and 62T are different, as yurkanip said, 62T is better.

The 61X and 62T have the sex of the white with red stripe wire changed. So to use a 62T CDI on a 61X stator, a male to male jumper has to be used.
