62T cases... modded for stroker cranks.

I am curious as to how people are modifying there cases to use a say 10MM stroker crank.

I know to use Devcon Liquid ooz to first add mass to the case before porting but my question is the crank area, and the galleys the webs run through. Are people just grinding/machining material away, or cutting out the galley completely, drop it down and reweld it then smooth it all out inside?

Thanks for the feedback.

The cases will need to be reinforcing with Devcon aluminum epoxy around the bottom casting before any machining starts.

When machining the cases for the larger stroke cranks the bottom becomes very thin and sometimes will actual go through the casting in areas.

On the 10mm and larger stroke engines you'll need to have the bottom of the case machined down and reinforced with a bolt on aluminum plate.

There is only a few engine builders making these plates and Chuck from X-Scream should be able to help you out.

Here's a few pictures of what the reinforcement plate looks like, Chucks plate is a little nicer looking and uses the 64X case bolts to hold it in place.

they look great those plates
Im not sure about using them on 2008 as they have the rubber block under the engine
Has anyone developed some to work with that

I am nervous about taking the block out as the ribs have gone from the side and i dont know if the hull has lost any ridgeity because of it

Damn that looks like good. Did you find those off of the BUN site or is that bad boy in your possession?

I would be curious to see a picture of the other side to after griding/machining.

Must be top secret :sneaky:

No, not top secret...just don't have any pic's of it yet.
all 10mm, 12mm and some 8mm (depending on the rods) machined cases are broke completely through the casing when done.
We don't offer the stroker plates for sell just yet... only on completed cases that are machined and ready to go.

blasters and raider always had the rubber block and i havent seen a superjet with one so i would say its your call

you could alway cut the rubber that fits into the case and mount it on the stroker plate
