I started out riding a 300sx when I was 11, and within a few years I realized I needed something bigger. Without knowing much about jet skis I bought a 650sx because it was cheaper than a superjet and only a little smaller. Fast forward to last fall I wanted to upgrade again but find that I am still a kid without much money, so rather than buy a new ski I swapped in a big pin 750 motor and got the power I wanted. Over the winter I bought a coffmans pipe, small gas tank, x2 nozzle with trim, and footholds. I am currently working on installing the footholds, the next step is to take 2" off the back measuring from the end of the hull not the rail that goes around the perimeter. So for now I have my work cut out for me, but when its all painted and turfed I want to make a new aluminum handle pole. In the planning stage right now, I want to make it adjustable so I'm thinking a mounting bracket at the bottom with a midsection of aluminum tube that I can shorten then another bracket on the top to mount the steering to. I have made a shortened pole out of wood to feel what it would feel like. If anyone has made a pole for a 650 before please help me, I have the general idea but I don't know how to mount the steering or what size tubes I should be using. Any advice from someone with experience would be appreciated .
