sometimes it doesn't even need a rebuild, although that is the best. I had the fuel dry up out of the carbs and just make the needle stick. loosen it up with some carb cleaner and it was good to go.

so pretty much just buy some carb cleaner and let it sit? or should i spray the cleaners in like all the holes of the carb and blow it with air? or any other sugestions.

disasemble the carb carefully in a clean area. layout in a way you can remember how it goes. clean and spray the jets and holes. reassemble it the exact same way it came apart (hopefully it is together properly in the first place) i would start with the diaphram side,(square side) it has the needle/seat in it. then try the pump side (rectangle side) good luck, keep it clean

I would just buy a rebuild, jet-world has them for like 30-40 bucks. Not bad and it could probably use the rebuild anyways. I just did it to my 44 carb that goes on my 650sx and it doesnt take long. Get a light colored towel and right when you take something apart, clean the area and then put the new part on, they come with a scematic but those suck to try and follow if you arent familiar like me!

or at least order the rebuild kit and while waiting for it, take the carb apart and see if you can get it to work. that way you get carb cleaning practice and may get another season out of it before you have to use the new rebuild that you will have in stock on your shelf. lol. that just the cheap dutchman in me talking.

thanks

i got it running for the most part, still needs some tunning, did i mention it sat with gas and oil in it for 3 years in floridas such lovely weather, lol i just need to tweak it out a bit and get the hang of it, ending up buying new plugs and gonna replace my gas lines also, but does anyone have any kinda parts for a 650sx that they would like to get rid of cheap? let me know, im always interested.

My bet is dirty, nasty carb(s).

Try rebuilding. 3 years sitting if the gas doesn't have stable (sp) in it is a recipe for gum.

Gum is bad, mmkay?

i had took it all apart and cleaned it all out with carb cleaners, ill try the carb kit, but otherwise where can i get something like hydro-turf but not the price of hydro-turf? is there another brand who makes the same stuff just cheaper?
if so please let me know, and thanks for all your help guys, idk what i would do without it

the one and only hydro turf. you can buy a sheet for a little cheaper than an actual pre-cut turf kit. Call them, they may also have some b-stock but it is grey and i think they are all done with that. it sounds like your carbs pump is weak, check the pulse line from the engine case to the carb for cracks, also check any inline fuel filters you may have and that the fuel tank is/holds pressure. did you happen to clean the little white basket internal fuel filter that is in the carb?
