Super Jet 701 electrical box issues ?

Just today I received a 1996 superjet from my cousin. He said all it needed was a starter relay so I put a new one in, and when I push the start button it doesn't turn over but when started by hot wiring, the kill switch works. Any suggestions are very appreciated

Test the switch with an ohm meter and confirm the switch is not working then replace it

I have to the ohm meter but how do I test the switch

When you press the switch it should show continuity or read resistance once the switch contact is closed
