I just put a 62t 701 out of a waveraider in my squarenose. First of all the CDI and starter relay were bad so I put those parts in from my 650 ebox. Also there was a white wire with a red stripe in the ebox that had two male ends so I left them unhooked. The motor was just rebuilt and has an even 150 compression. It also has a protec pipe on it. When I took it out it wouldnt come off idle unless you really played with it. I tried messing with the needle screws on the carbs and it would run then it would just bog down and run at 1/4 throttle when you held it wide open. Anyone know what it could be.
701 not running right

First of all the reason both white wires with the red stripe have male ends is because the 701 cdi has a female end and the 650 cdi has a male end. That white wire (red stripe) has to be hooked up as it goes to a coil on your stator. And I dont beleive the 650 cdi will work right for your 701 ignition anyway. E-bay has some 701 cdi's goning for pretty cheap right now.Hopefully you recorded your origanal carb settings. Good luck
I ordered a MSD enhancer from amazon and ill get the white with red stripe wire hooked up and see what happens
