701 vs 760

so I have the thoughts of a motor swap I have a 701 sn and I am chopping and rockering the sn but I was thinking about putting a 760 in it for it I plan on surf and tugs boat waves. Right now I have a 61x/62t 701 dual carbs bone stock.

What are thoughts on 760 swap

I have a SN running a stock 760 cylinder/head, stock dual 38's with standard flame arrestor and 'B' Pipe with FX-1 chamber. It has a custom pitch stainless impeller.

This was built by a prominent ex-racer as his personal surf boat. He sold it to me newly rebuilt.

My experience has been stock level reliability with a strong and linear power delivery - sort of like a big-bore V-twin motorcycle engine. If that sounds the sort of thing you're after go for it!

Happy to provide carb settings if you do go with a similar combo. Should get you close to where you need to be.

Get an ADA head and pipe, preferably b-pipe, and prop. You'll be closer to where you want with items you're gonna want anyway.

Sell that fx1 chamber, buy a small island and retire

760 has different exh manifold, so if you get a b pipe/etc it will need to be modified slightly.

id stick with the 701. porting is the best band for the buck, get a pipe, ada head, and a prop to go with it. Maybe an enhancer or other ignition.
