Hey guys & gals, I just tore down the motor in my WB1. And I wanted to know what the piece is between the cylinders that has a screw in it. This would be in the waterjacket. Actually the piece that is held in by the screw had broke and was laying in the waterjacket and just the screw was still in the boss. Just can't figure what this would be for. Thanks

It's a sacrificial anode.
Something for the corrosion to munch on instead of the good bits.

I always wondered what that thing was. I guess that is what happens when all you have ever owned were Kawasaki's.

That anode doesn't do anything for watercraft because its submerged only when the engine is running. It would do some good if our engines were mounted upside down and sat full of water.
