750sx trouble shooting

Need some advice on trouble shooting a misfire/carb issue? I have a 94 750sx that seems to have some sort of issue trying to run at full throttle. Anything past 1/3 the ski sounds like it’s misfiring/hitting a hard limiter. It has a “new” ignition coil that I pulled from a running ski which seemed to help a quite a bit. With the old one it was running on like 1 1/2 cylinders. But now they are both firing evenly. I have done an air leak test and a compression test which came out fine. Also the carb that it has was rebuilt over the winter and I have a new one also which I tried and it made no noticeable difference in how it performed. It idles and revs fine in and out of the water but I can’t seem to figure out the cause of the misfire. Carb adjustments don’t seem to help and the pop off seems like it needs to be pretty high as the vibrations make it drip on idle if I go to 20psi or lower. Spark plugs do look wet like it’s too rich. Altitude where I mainly ride at is around 1800ft. I’ll get a video one of these days of it running and post it here. Im pretty annoyed that I can’t figure out the issue and don’t want to just throw parts at it to fix it with out knowing the solution.

Over heating, or bad sensor will put you into a limp mode causing the rev limiter to kick in early.

Bad CDI, plug wires, defective plug, can cause similar issues.
