760 64x builds

I know this has been done to death but I'd like to hear some input from people who run this engine in their superjet. I've heard all the "it lacks bottom end" talk. Looking for something quicker in racing/slalom performance than my 701 so I can keep the 701 stock and rebuild it in the future. Ran across a deal on a 760 that caught my attention. Its been ported and has a billet head. Wanting to run race gas, big carbs, and maybe a light flyweel to pick up some torque. Any honest advice is appreciated.

Just got done with one, did light flywheel and limited b pipe higher compression. Has tons of power everywhere and scary top end.

But, rode it back to back with a 61x/61x we just built and the bottom end is definitely lacking by comparison. I would have the nuklear6 lower the ports if you really want it to hit down low.

I'm not disappointed in it, but it just doesn't have the same type of power as the 61x.

Thanks I've read that thread, lots of good info there, decking the case is a cool idea. Decided to buy the engine and try it as is with 38cc domes on 100 octane.

I've already got the epic and a mod chamber. Looking for some 44+ carbs, reeds, and intake.

Any idea what prop might be needed? I'm currently running a 9/15 hooker. My guess is pitch up to 10/16 or 11/17. Although the 9/15 might be nice in the surf...

I have no regrets with my 760 build everyone that rides it likes it. I started with a chewed up 9/15 hooker and this season I put in a new 10/16. I will say I prefer the 10/16 over the 9 but since it wasn't new the comparison may not be apples to apples. I will say to only mod that I haven't done yet to my motor is a lightened flywheel. It probably should have been one of the first mods. If you are looking for 61x type bottom end power you MUST Lower the port timing. It's as simple as cutting the cases or cylinders 1.5 - 2 , and machining the head domes to get the squish you want. Mines at 60 thousandth. Nukler6 is the man. He cut my domes and is good at what he does. I'm still running my stock weight flywheel. Soon I hope to get my msd total loss and then I will be done/happy. ........ Maybe
