I ended up having to do some pretty significant damage to my flywheel when I took it off so I could be able to change my crank seals. so I'm looking to buy a new/used one.
I've read as much as I can find on the subject of the different flywheels for the different model years and engine types, and I just want to clarify what I think I know before I make a purchase.
I heard that you need to modify the big pin flywheel to fit on the small pin motor. And that the small pin flywheel will fit all motors.
But I also found that 1992 was an odd ball year for the flywheel taper. I know 1992 flywheels won't fit on other cranks. But my question is will other year small pin flywheels be able to fit on my crank as it's a 1992, or do I have to find a flywheel exactly off of a 1992?
thanks in advance for any help.
