93 blaster hitting rev limiter

I had to change the starter out on my 93 blaster before this weekend ( well see how long the ebay special will last haha) so while I had the exhaust out I decided to change out the crappy looking water adjuster screws, change some cooling plumbing, and swap intake grate and ride plate.

I set my Factory B pipe to top: closed, Middle: closed, Bottom: ¾ of a turn open.
Connected the factory bilge hose to the 90 that the PO had installed in the port side of the pump for dual cooling and just ran it to my extra pisser until I have time to drill and tap my exhaust manifold for another cooling line.
Installed ULTRAC intake grate In picture. Found it in my parts stash and thought id give it a try because the 93 only had a stock grate.
Installed a Riva groovy ride plate. That I found on my nearly stock parts blaster that I have yet to put back together.

Took the 93 out for a test ride and almost as soon as I got up on plane it sounded like the engine was hitting the rev limiter. The ride plate made a world of difference in handling but now I have a new issue which I think is hitting the rev limiter.

Is this do to me changing the intake grate and ride plate or adjusting the B pipe?

That was one of my early suspicions but I decided against it because the fitting hasn’t had a hose on it since I got the ski, but didn’t think about the pisser being less resistance than the water above the ride plate.

This weekend I finally got to test it after plugging that pisser line. And still did the same thing. Wednesday I’ll try to stock intake grate. If that’s not it then I must need to adjust the b pipe or get a modded CDI

My superjet was doing the same thing a long time ago. I checked and replaced everything. Ended up being a bad coil.

I forgot to ever come up date this thread, about 3 weeks after I posted this I found the problem. I guess the previous owner had installed a nozzle off a 650 which are plastic. The nozzle had cracked and was flexing under pressure and letting water by pass the nozzle. I found out because the plastic nozzle finally broke.

installed an aluminum one I had laying around and it’s all good to go now. Runs like a champ again. Thanks for y’all’s help.
