93 Wave Blaster build up

I decided to document my build up over the summer of this 93 blaster. I have an all stock 61x setup in a 94 blaster, and it runs great. I wanted more power, but with mostly oem parts. So I decided I was going to build a blaster using a stock 760 pipe. The 760 pipe uses a much nicer exhaust manifold and stinger while using the same expansion chamber as the 701 setup. I am putting an all 62T 701 from a raider in this ski that I am porting using templates. I was going to run an ADA head but the stock exhaust is heavy and really needs the head bracket so I sold the ADA and have the stock head out at newmiller machine to be shaved. Also advancing the timing a few degress. Eventually I'll bore it to 84mm but for now it stays 701 and I'll be keeping the dual 38's regardless of bore size.

First up are the scary pics, cutting for the 760 pipe. My intention in the beginning was to cut as little as possible instead of making it look pretty. I knew I could go back after it fit and clean the holes

With that out of the way, the next step is the raider rear waterbox. Removing the foam from the left side was a massive, overwhelming pain the ass. thumbnail.jpg

But I got it done and cleaned up nice..

Of course then I went to eye ball the rear exhaust outlet I'll need to install, and realized I have to pull at least half the right side foam out as well. FML. That was depressing, so I decided to start up the with template for making a fiberglass bubble over the cut out area.

I figure I'll cut and shave that foam block down to the shape and size I want and just fiberglass over it so it looks smooth.

I would just stick with the original exhaust outlet.
Can't with the pipe. Notice the exit of the pipe is in the rear compartment, which is where it sits with the motor bolted in. I'd have to run no waterbox or some kind of aftermarket setup perhaps to use the oem outlet.

Over the weekend I got the foam on the right side cleared out finally. Doing it in a 110* garage is not easy lol.
-Also cut the foam chunk to fill in the hole I cut. I still need to shave it to a nice smooth shape so the fiberglass bubble looks good.
-Finished fitting the 760 pipe and cleaned up the previously cut holes so they are nice and smooth.
-Found with the angle the 760 tail sticks out [701 tail is slightly different] I'll need a 30* or so piece of pipe to connect the stinger to the waterbox.
-Also got my head back from newmiller machine. Went with a 93 octane cut, should be around 180psi or so. I like to run a lot of compression in my stand ups, but they only get full throttle for a couple sec at a time. Blaster will tool around the lake at higher throttle more often, so I'm staying conservative.
