I'm having trouble with my impeller. It doesn't spin 360 degrees. It gets stuck in the same spot every time. What causes this and how can I fix it?
SX/SXi/SXi Pro 94 Kawasaki Impeller will not spin freely around sleave.

You mean... When you spin it with your hand ??? Is it a new impeller ? It is possible a new impeller won't turn in it's housing. Start the engine. The impeller will machine it's way by itself.

if its a salt water boat, the wear ring could be beer canning. that means corrosion is under the wear ring, causing it to lift in one or more spots, causing the prop to hit those high spots. if thats the case, your pump is junk and needs to be replaced. i charge big bucks for kawi pumps , but i'm sure there is some peasant member on here that is willing to give his valuable part away for beer money, since he's a broke peasant. retail price on that kawi pump is about $600 with bearings. i get 2-3 hundred for mine but you can find some fool to sell you one for $40. i usually diagnose local callers problems over the phone, and i dont mind doing this if they buy parts from me. i save them major coin in diagnostic fees and appreciative customers have continued to do business with me year after year.
